Searching the internet is a daunting task and often times we do not get the search results we seek. At FindCNY.com we have taken a different approach to search, we give you global results, but pull up local companies first. This way we can try to keep business local.
By utilizing the biggest search engine on the net, Google, we give you the same results you love and trust, but it is done with a twist. We have programmed the results to emphasize local companies before it gives you global results.
Often times there is a local company that may provide you with the product or services that you are seeking, but you do not know they exist. You may not know they are there because they do not show up on the first page of the results of your search term. Because of this, many of our consumer dollars are sent off to companies not domiciled in CNY or NY for that matter.
At FindCNY.com, the local company will now be shown first with global competitors shown after. This means we will have a better chance of keeping our money local and growing our economy organically. If we could keep more of our dollars local then we will have a better chance of creating jobs, real jobs, not hourly jobs provided by big box stores like Best Buy, etc.
Sometimes local companies do not have the products or services you need, this is why we have global results. This is going to be the new wave in the way people search and FindCNY.com is on the cutting edge of this new technology. As the internet gets cluttered with more useless information and spam it is going drive the searching public to niche search sites or customized sites.
When this happens it means that not only is the main search engine searching and deleting spam and useless information, but so are we. This will give you a better user experience and the quality results you want. By using our search engine you may be helping out the local economy as well.
Not a bad trade off, results you already know and trust given to you by a local company.
Examples of sites we left out:
Wikipedia – While we admire what they are doing we do not like the idea that it could be some nut job providing the information. In a recent case a 23 year old person claimed to be an authority on Religious Theology when, in fact, he was not. Wikipedia is so big and well known they do not need anymore exposure and you can direct type them.
Made for Adsense sites – These are sites that are designed for the sole purpose for you to click on ads. When you click their ad the webmaster gets paid, but the quality of the site is usually poor and of no real value to the web surfer.
.co.uk – While we love the English they typically have different information and irrelevant content for USA based web surfers.
Blogspot.com – 97% of the blogs on Blogspot.com are spam sites trying to get you to either click ads or to provide another website with links. Again, this is useless information to the web surfer so we eliminated them.
And much more!
