If you have been watching any television lately you may have seen the numerous ads that now contain the “Pride of NY” logo and philosophy on them. Pride of NY is a great program developed by the State of New York to help increase awareness of local products, mostly agriculture, and help to encourage people throughout NYS to buy local agriculture products and foods processed here in NY and support our own farmers.

New York State is well known for its apples and wines, but it also maintains a long standing family line of farmers that produce numerous types of produce and quality products that we as New Yorkers should be encouraged to buy.

In a time when we are going through recall after recall, many feel that we need to be more careful what products we buy for our own safety. What better way to ensure you know where the food was grown and also support our own state all by simply buying locally grown produce.

The website for the program http://www.prideofNY.com also features a section which shows local restaurants that are supporting this initiative to help us make better local choices.  They also offer a list of events to help support the cause, learn some great cooking tips and recipes, and so much more.

We here at FindCNY find this to be a refreshing program to highlight what we have locally. This is right in line with our own moto “Keep it local” We highly recommend you not only check out their website, but be more aware when you go to the grocery store to look for the logo “Pride of NY” to help support our local farmers.

Who do you agree with? Hillary Clinton is calling for the national gas tax to be froze while Obama says the only solution is to cut back American dependence on oil.
Hillary is right on!
Obama is right on!
Neither is right on the issue
